After much research I decided to upgrade from the Brother 1034D to the Babylock Vibrant. So far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The machine is solid. It doesn't jump around on the table. I like how the entire front opens for easy cleaning and maintenance. Threading is easy. The stitches are beautiful and not hard to balance. The only downside is the poor lighting. Other reviewers mentioned the dismal lighting and they were 100% correct. This seems to be a design flaw but with an external lamp it's only a slight inconvenience. I am loving using my Babylock Vibrant! Hopefully it will be used for many, many more years to come :) . Thank you to the store for shipping it all the way across Canada for me. I was nervous to purchase a serger (I’m still a beginner), but this one is very easy to thread since it opens up. So far I’ve had no problems and have already used it on a dress I made. Straight out of the box it was a great experience. It came treaded with different colours so that > could test serge and see what part does what. I then removed all threads fully and rethreaded. So very easy and intuitive! I have an old that I bought second hand a few years ago that I have never successfully threaded and have had to get my friend to do it for me. I am so happy that I splurged and bought this baby lock. It serges so nicely and the machine feels very sturdy. I now have a trio of amazing baby lock machines - Jubilant, Quilters Choice, and Vibrant.
